The sound of a wild beast.

Last night I was in the land of nod & I was suddenly awoken by the most upsetting noise ever. In my head, as I was semi asleep, I thought I was hearing someone (a women) scream "help me, Ahh help me I'm being attacked" << less subtle word in reality as I awoke more it sounded like she was running along the pavement in heels. Was rather upsetting but gradually I came to realise it was obviously some animal. The sound was insanely loud & lasted for a long time. I thought it might be a bird slowly being eaten alive by a fox or a seagull stuck & slowly strangling it's self. Any way this noise slowly started to fade as if what ever it was, was slowly dying. It was horrid. I peeked out the window but saw nothing. In the morning I checked for blood or feathers but saw nothing. This is a complete mystery. It made me think of what it's like to hear all the wild animals in the jungle & them eating each other. It must be terrifying.
